Welcome to the Caledonian Forest 84 Challenge!

Scots Pines on the banks of Loch Tulla

Scotland’s magnificent and iconic Caledonian Forest is sadly under threat.

This forest, which once spanned over 1.5million hectares of Scotland, has been reduced to just 1% of its former range. There are 84 remnants of this forest left across Scotland, some teeny, some awe-inspiring, and I want to visit them all - and take you with me!

So that’s exactly what I’ll be doing, I’ll be visiting Scotland’s 84 Caledonian Pinewoods remnants, and showcasing them all, whether they are showing little to no natural regeneration, or whether they’re are bursting with life, I hope you can learn to love and appreciate this vital forest.
